Learn the satisfying art of baking your own baguette - start to finish - in your own home.*

I'll be demonstrating the basic elements of preparing, combining, kneading, resting / rising, and eventually baking a simple baguette.

We'll explore how simple it is to change up your loaf by simply substituting a different kind of fat, liquid, or flour.

We'll be looking at the difference between several types of flours that can be used in bread baking.  I'll demonstrate the difference between a traditional rye loaf, for example, one of the hardiest and most densely satisfying loaves; and my homemade barley & cream sandwich loaf, a rich and delightful sandwich loaf, yet lighter in style.  

You'll walk away from this foundational class with:

  • Your very own baguette that you shaped with your own hands
  • Basic understandings of how to play with that basic baguette recipe
  • Recipes and a practical understanding of how to prepare a traditional rye loaf and my homemade barley & cream sandwich loaf.
  • Butter all over your hands and face :)

*This is not a fancy pants, Frenchy-French baguette baking program.  If you are looking for food with major attitude and lots of flourishes, this is NOT your class.  This is a basics class, designed to invite major satisfaction among women who choose to explore baking in their own homes.  There shall be laughter and flour everywhere :)
